Confirm accessibility needs before booking a Lanzarote transfer

Describe what you need for the road journey before accepting a transfer. A vehicle with enough passenger seats or luggage space is not, by itself, confirmation that it meets your access needs.

This guide helps you prepare a request. It does not confirm that Speedybus has a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, a ramp or lift, wheelchair securing equipment, or driver-assisted boarding for your journey. Ask whether your specific requirements can be accommodated and obtain an explicit answer before booking.

Explain how you need to travel

Tell the operator whether you expect to travel in a vehicle seat or need to remain in your wheelchair during the journey. Do not let that distinction disappear into a general note saying “wheelchair”.

Describe the equipment you will bring: its type, whether it folds, its dimensions in the form it will travel, and its weight if you know it. For powered equipment, say that it is powered and ask what details the operator needs. Confirm the airline’s equipment requirements separately.

State any boarding arrangement that must be available, such as an accessible entry, ramp or lift, and clarify what assistance is needed. Do not assume a driver will lift a passenger or provide personal care. If a requirement is unanswered, keep it marked as not confirmed.

Confirm the people, equipment and access together

Include the full route, travel date, passenger count, accompanying people and luggage. An answer about the equipment alone may not cover everyone and everything travelling with it.

Give the exact pickup and destination entrances. If you are unsure about steps, distance from the vehicle or access at your accommodation, check those details with the accommodation as well. A suitable vehicle does not establish that the entrance or onward assistance is suitable.

The large-luggage guide explains ordinary load information. Keep access and seating requirements distinct from that luggage list.

Keep each stage’s confirmation separate

On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to see every column. You can also copy or print it.

Aena’s official Barrier Free service page explains airport assistance and asks passengers to notify assistance needs at least 48 hours before departure for the planned service quality. It also says to check mobility-equipment restrictions with the airline. Read its current instructions for your journey. Airport assistance and a road-transfer booking are separate arrangements.

Ask where the handover between airport assistance and transport will happen and who covers any assistance you need between that point and the vehicle. Do not assume two separate providers have coordinated it simply because both have your flight number.

Use the accessibility request sheet

Download the blank transfer requirements sheet. It provides thirteen rows for the road journey, seating need, equipment, boarding, companions, handover, provider acceptance and unresolved requirements. Beside each requirement, record the answer, who confirmed it and the confirmation date.

The sheet is a record you keep, not a booking form. It does not send data, approve equipment or check vehicle suitability. Keep your completed copy private and share only the practical details the relevant provider needs. There is no reason to put passport details or a medical diagnosis into this initial planning record.

For example, a hypothetical passenger may expect to travel in a vehicle seat while bringing a folded chair. Another may need to remain in a chair. These are different requests; a general reply that luggage is accepted does not answer either one completely.

Check the answer before accepting

The operator’s confirmation should address the requirements you described, not just a generic vehicle size. Recheck it if equipment, seating needs, passengers or the route change.

If a critical requirement remains unconfirmed, do not treat the arrangement as ready. Resolve that need with a provider that explicitly confirms it can support the journey. This guide does not promise availability, a specific vehicle or medical/personal assistance.

Ask Speedybus about the actual journey

Send your route, date, people, luggage and practical access requirements. Ask whether Speedybus can accommodate them and request explicit confirmation of the arrangement, availability and price before booking. The published service guide provides general context, not confirmation of wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
