Airport transport compared

Bus, taxi or private transfer from Lanzarote Airport?

The bus is usually the lowest-cost option; a taxi suits an unplanned journey; and a pre-booked private transfer lets you confirm the vehicle, pick-up and destination before you travel. The right choice depends on your arrival time, accommodation, luggage and group size.

When is the bus the best choice?

When you are travelling light, your flight matches the timetable and a stop is close to your accommodation. Aena lists routes 22 and 23 to Arrecife and routes 61 and 161 towards Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca. Timetables can change, so check Aena or Intercity Lanzarote before travelling.

When is a taxi the best choice?

When you do not want to book and need to leave as soon as you arrive. Aena says official taxis should be taken from the terminal rank and publishes the metered rates and supplements. Check the official Lanzarote Airport taxi information.

When is a private transfer the best choice?

When you want the pick-up, vehicle and destination settled before your flight; particularly for groups, children, several suitcases, bicycles or surfboards. Speedybus carries groups of 1 to 12 passengers and asks for the flight number so the actual arrival time can be followed.

What about Playa Blanca or Puerto del Carmen?

Route 161 connects the airport with Puerto del Carmen, Puerto Calero, Yaiza and Playa Blanca. If its stop and timetable suit you, the bus is practical. For a door-to-door journey, compare it with a transfer to Playa Blanca or a transfer to Puerto del Carmen.

How do I ask about a transfer?

Send the pick-up, destination, date, time, passengers and flight number on WhatsApp. Speedybus replies to confirm availability and price before you book. You can also compare it with a taxi in Lanzarote or hiring a car.
